LearnLink
Using AI to create the new future in education
LearnLink is a platform that is integrated within schools that provides alternative ways to absorb textbook materials.

With integrated AI, this platform focuses on accessibility and assistive technologies. This project is still in the prototyping phase and the team consisted of two UX designers, and three developers for Flatiron School’s September Hackathon 2023.

On this screen, users will navigate to Courses, where they will be able to select a topic in which they would like to learn.
Additional actions for this page may include course names such as Biology 101 or French 200, where students will able to access course specific textbooks that are approved by the school.

When users click on a course specific textbook, they will be able to read the ebook through the site. By clicking on any of the buttons under Learn with AI, our AI integration creates summaries, key ideas, or quizzes based off the curriculum.
Current accessibility features include text to voice, the ability for the user to change text sizes, font type, and highlight main features.

In addition to accessibility features on the AI portion of the site, we also wanted to make sure the entire platform is easy to navigate and use. In the future, there may be additional accessibility preferences under My Profile, but to start, if the user clicks text to speech assistance, the screen can be read out loud for the remainder of the site visit.
This project is in progress, and the team continues to explore how to make AI enhance learning practices.
